performance delivery center

What is the experience at the PDC. Waiting for a spot at the South Carolina center will mean about a month delay in getting my new 335 Msport. It would be lots of fun. I could take my teenage son, and have outlined a pretty good two day back road trip back home. Anybody think it is worth the month delay?

Thanks for any advice

How would this add a month delay? Who is telling you that? Just curious because we were planning the PDC delivery, but if it adds a month, no way in hell...

There are only a certain amount of spots for people to sign up and do this, the OP is saying that the nearest slot would mean he wouldn't be able to get his car delivered until then. There are a few members on here that have done it and raved about it.

I am doing my 2nd PCD in 2 years. My 335 will hit the VPC in a couple weeks. My PCD is 7/16. So the car will be there 2-3 weeks before my date. The Performance Center is very busy and it is worth the wait! Here are some photos and my old post of my last PC delivery.

It's something I want to do for sure, but if it adds 3-4 weeks to the delivery date, I'm thinking I may pass. Summers are SHORT in WI and already I'm looking mid to late July for delivery, so to push that into Aug would pretty much suck.

How far out can I get the PDC scheduled? My CA doesn't seem to know much about this..

The performance center provides the date, you can not really request one. If you don't like the date, you choose a later date and all performance center deliveries are done during the week,no weekends. I had my delivery date before the car went in to production. Also, I believe the car needs to be ordered initially with this option. Your sales person needs to call the performance center asap. I believe they are in to mid August now.

David1 is correct. It is the first open date at the PDC. It is a little bit frustrating because the car was in finished 10 days after I ordered it. I have a hard time waiting the the additional 3-4 weeks. But David's account and pictures of his recent PDC visit have turned me around. I think I will wait. Who knows when i buy my next BMW. i've had my 328 since '99. I would like the European Delivery for the next one.

Thanks for the post David1

My PCD added 2 weeks to my delivery and at the time, I'm sure it was a painful wait. However, my wife and I had so much fun that all that pain was erased. A month wait would be tough, but once you take delivery this way, you'll be glad you did.

I got my PCD date last week as 8/4. The car finished production on Friday and is "being released to the carrier" right now, so assuming it's on a boat this week, there isn't much of a difference between the PDC and a local delivery in WI. Maybe a week or 2 tops. But I've got so much stuff going on in July that this shouldn't kill me too bad...

For work reasons I would *LOVE* to get in the previous week Wed-Fri, but the CA is saying "nope"... Wonder if I can call the PDC once the car is enroute or at the center...

Tracking my car

Saw that the car was in transit. I read in other post that you can track your car through the VIN anybody know how to do this on the WW site?

Ordered car 5/30 trying to figure out what ship it is on. CA not as helpful after the sale as before the sale.

Your CA should be able to get the ship information as well as the VIN. If not, try the 800# and default out to an operator. They know EVERYTHING...

(800-831-1117 - lol... I know this by heart)
