Disconnect the battery????

I just ordered a M-sport steering wheel, and wonder if I disconnected the battery to install it. Would my car's setting be gone? Do I need to bring the car back to re-active the Alarm system? Anything I need to worry except the radio channels?

As someone who has done the steering wheel DIY, don't worry about disconnecting the battary. All you lose are radio channels. It's a must to disconnect the battery to do the steering wheel DIY, otherwise, you risk the air bag exploding. No worries, you're going to love that damn wheel, still my favorite mod of all the one's I've done.
