it's physically impossible to tint that area perfectly.....the dots grow larger as you move up the window, large dots = less window space for the tint to stick onto.

My rear window looks fantastic after tint (I posted a pic. in another tint thread.
However, it was a (*&@$^ to do the tint guy told me .. He ended up glueing it over the dot matrix portion. |

I have Charcool 35%... I like the look (and it has held up perfect in 2.5 years so far) but the dot matrix in the rear window is visible.
Regards,

Second, It is done everyday by able tint shops every where. That's why they use GLUE to get the film to stick to the window |

Question...can the tinters tint in front of the brake light? I dont wanna remove the brake light so that he can get in there to tint it. I hope he can slip in the tint without pulling apart the third brake light...

I had mine done and the guy said it was a PITA. What he wound up doing was using two separate pieces, normal tint for the glass portion, and vinyl for the dot matrix.

Most of experienced BMW Tint shops put darker limo level adhesive vinyl between dots and tint on the rear windshield.

I had mine done at Sal's in Santa Ana. Came out great, and it was with Huper Optik which is even harder to do.
