Can I request that BMW build my car with different tires?

I have heard that BMW is now shipping the 335i with a variety of tires. From various sources, I've heard about Michelin PS2's and Continentals, in addition to the traditional Potenza RFT's. Not sure if it's true, but I do know of at least one person that's gotten BMW to fit their 335 with PS2's instead of the RE050's when they had problems with the Bridgestones.

My question is simple: can I request a specific tire during the build process, and if so how do I do that?

TIA

Edit: BTW I already asked the dealer and they had no clue.

When I ordered mine I was told by the dealer that they have no control over what tires come with the car. They did tell me that they could switch them with another in-stock car on their lot if available though.

The car ended up coming with the tires I wanted (Continentals instead of Bridgestones) so it wasn't an issue in the end.

+1
You will either get Continentals, or Bridgestones.

The Michelin PS2's only come on the M cars. So you will either get bridgestone or continentals.

i would think that when a car company puts something new into production, after all the testing they decide on a tire that is the best balance between performance and the price they pay from the supplier (Conti, Bridgstone, ect...). they probably use the runflats as a marketing thing so they can say to the car buyer "look you can run on a punctured tire for up to 100 miles, you dont need a spare, you'll save room in your trunk, and when you buy a new set of tires, you'll only need 4 not 5.
what im trying to say is that, because they buy their tires in large quantities there is prob a contract lying around somewhere saying what tire they can use.
i highly doubt that you can choose your tire.

My dealer told me too, no control over tire choices. My 2006 325xi sport package had the Bridgestone rfts and I split the cost with my dealer to replace all 4 after premature and uneven wear. So I am concerned over receiving the bridgestones again on my on order 2009 335i, but only hope that if I get 'em that they fixed the problems.

People in SoCal on the same boat as me, with similar cars as me, got Michelin tires, I got Bridgestone tires.

ODD.

I have no problem with them, but would have liked the change.

Really hoping my LCI 335 zsp comes w/ the ps2's. My 06 325zsp had b-stones. Not a huge fan. Should be here in a couple days...
