I talked to Ed Han the other day on the phone (Passport BMW). He seemed very helpful and was eager to get my business. He's the internet sales manager. I'd try him.

BMW of Fairfax
I was very happy with Michael Choung at BMW of Fairfax. Spent a ton of time with me as I was making a decision. It tooke me a while to decide to spend the money to get what I wanted but he never pressured me and he know his stuff.
He often works out of the previously owned office but also sells new cars. Tell him Steve sent you.

I wouldn't send someone to Passport BMW
I just bought mine from Passport, but the only reason was that they had the only one in the area that was optioned exactly as I wanted. Fact is, I damn near decided to get over it and buy a "similar" vehicle from a different dealer.
Reason: I called two manager and my sales person, leaving messages with all three of them on voice mail and the receptionist conveyed a handwritten message to one of the sales managers. All this at 2:00 in the afternoon. By 7:00 pm, not one of these individuals had returned my call. I finally spoke to a receptionist around 7:15 who told me that some manager had asked her to tell me I should not come out because my salesperson was not on duty that evening. I was ticked off about that too since I'd called earlier in the day and nobody returned my call. (not even a text message) (I guess if my salesperson were to have had a great misfortune happen to him, the dealership would have had no way to sell the car to me because the salesperson was no longer available??? Puh-lease...) Truth was that had any of the folks I left messages with actually called (or text'd) with near any "sad, sad story" about why they could not complete the transaction that evening would have been acceptable. My recommendation: Check the dealer ratings website. Try Tisher first. They have the best ratings on the dealer rating website. Any dealership can usually have a car transferred from another dealership if they don't have the one you want at your preferred dealership. (typically relevant for new cars; maybe/maybe not applicable to used cars) Passport may be good for getting your car serviced; they have the largest service shop of all the DC area dealers and they are currently trying to expand their service business. So perhaps they may be somewhat more motivated than others. One thing worth noting: All dealerships remain in business mostly because of service revenues, not because of sales revenues. Consider this: you see service facilities that don't sell cars. You don't see dealerships that don't have service departments. |

Another vote for Jeff Shi out at BMW of Sterling, just bought a car from him in Dec. '08 and he definitely went the extra mile to get the deal done. Our car is currently there for service now, and he's still taking care of and honoring Things Owed from 7 months ago (I currently live an hour away from the dealership so it hasn't really been convenient to get back out there) when we purchased the car.
