How long does it take?

Hey guys,

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a msport and I'm curious as to how long it really takes for the car to be ordered and arrive to NY. I've always heard 6-8 weeks.... is it closer to 6 or 8? I know the wait is going to kill me so I just want to prepare myself

If I pull the trigger tomorrow, when do you guys think it would arrive?
I heard that the BMW factory closes for a month in august or September...how would that impact cars ordered?

Thanks !
Alan

6 weeks if you're lucky
8 weeks if you're average
10 weeks if you're unlucky
20 weeks if you're in remote parts of the globe

If production starts within a week or your order, then there is a good chance you will get your vehicle inside of 6-weeks...if on the east coast.

We had a slight delay at the port(waiting for a ship) or I would have gotten ours even quicker.

Here was our time line:

Order date was 4-17-09
Put into production 4-22
Finished production 4-27
Arrived at the port 4-29
Left the port 5-06
Arrived in SC 5-21
Arrived at dealer in TN 5-28
Took delivery 5-29

Here's my timeline for west coast delivery:

Ordered: 5-16
began production: 5-25
finished production: 6-02
arrived at Bremerhaven: 6-09
departed Bremerhaven: 6-12
arrived Port Hueneme, Ca.: 7-05
arrived at VPC: 7-06

I expect to have delivery within 8 weeks of order...not bad for west coast delivery.

Your's should be pretty much closer to the 6 week timeframe seeing as that BMW's first eastern US port is in northern New Jersey. Mine was almost exactly 6 weeks, ordered on 4/6 and took delivery on 5/15 in MA. It may seem like a long wait but well worth it!
