30 coats of Zaino???

I've been reading up on the fascination with Zaino and see that some members have put up to 30 coats on their cars. When and how is this done? Considering that you can't go beyond 3 coats in a 24 hr period. I'm assuming that the car is washed again before more coats are applied???
Is it clayed again too??? If so wouldnt that strip all of the ZAINO layers?
That would be a tremendous amount of work.

Also after sealing your car is it really necessary to keep using Z-7 to wash? At about 10 bucks a pop and 9 dollars for shipping that is one expensive car wash to keep ordering when you run out. Will other brands like armor all, meguiars remove the ZAINO??

How would one remove all of the ZAINO layers if they wanted to go back to a regular wax? (Clay?)

Now who would put 30 coats of Zaino on?

Yeah, you wash it with any automotive soap, and apply coats. You can apply more than 3 coats a day if you're not using ZFX.

I think he meant if you are using ZFX. ZFX helps eliminate curing time.

Z7 should last for awhile. It's concentrated. One cap-full per gallon. By the time you need to stock up on Zaino supplies again, you'd probably have a couple of things to re-order, so the shipping cost wouldn't go towards a single item.

Also, seriously, who the heck is gonna do 30 coats?

No, if you use ZFX, you're not supposed to put on more than three coats. I know it eliminates curing time, but if you apply it thin enough, you don't really need it (unless your environment is really bad for Zaino application).

shim: don't really need it? So you mean it's possible to directly apply the Z5/Z2 w/o using ZFX or Z-1? I thought it was a must (I just Zaino'd the other day so I'm totally new to this).

Thanks!

This is something new. AFAIK you have to wait for 24 hours to apply the next coat of Z2/Z5 unless you use ZFX.

Anyway, I used to say that Zaino is hard to use because it's hard to remove. I just got a brand new bottle of Z2 Pro and now I understand why you said it's easy to use. It is! I'm not sure what's wrong with the particular Z2 bottle I had from 2 years ago.

I'm applying combination of sealant and wax now, Z2, EXP, P21S, Natty's. It looks great.

Same here. Z5 followed by a few coats of Z2, topped off with a coat of P21S carnuaba.

not the paint, but I can imagine 30 coats of zaino sealant practically makes the car bulletproof

You don't apply 30 coats all at once. Zaino claims that putting another coat of polish will not take off your previous coat unlike other stuff that is out there..... So, if you have Zainoed your car 30 times overall you have 30 coats...... Get real; who would apply 30 coast during 1 detail!

You don't need ZFX to apply Zaino at all, you only need it if you will be applying more than one "coat" in a 24 hour period, up to 3. It also seems to help with durability, but is not required.

As for 30 "coats", it's funny - more than 2 years ago no one ever talked about "coats" of sealant. I personally see no difference between 2 coats (for coverage) and 8,000. Frankly, I think you're just wasting product. Put on 2 coats, maintain with Z8, and you're good for 6 months+.

If applied thin Zaino should be extremely easy to remove. If it isn't you have a bad bottle, are removing too soon, or are applying too thick.

No one would apply 30 coats in 24 hours because the car would be a streaky mess. Try applying it 5 times in one day and I bet money you'll have streaks no matter how much ZFX you use or how thinly you apply it. In fact, a lot of people avoid using Z8 until a few days later because it will streak when used over freshly applied Zaino.

I was referring to 30 coats overall. I don't think anyone is stupid enough to try to do 30 all at once. Oh and believe me, I can't remember who, but someone on this forum does have 30+ coats on their car. I remember reading it when I searched on the topic.

You could theoretically put 30 coats on that car, in that you could add one coat every day for a month - but at some point I think anyone whose dealt with sealants, include Sal Zaino, will agree that not only will you see diminishing returns, but you're start to remove previous layers of the sealant when applying more.
