iphone question

I'm an iphone newb and was wondering if anyone know how to lock your screen right away instead of waiting for the auto screen lock after xx seconds. For example, I launch my music and then want to lock the screen right away before dumping the thing into my pocket

I thought that was the "power" button but it turns out that it's the sleep/wake button. Too high tech for me

Anyone know the iphone can display chinese characters? Like if my song title is in chinese can it display the title?

yes it can display chinese...
you can even write chinese using the touch pad, just add chinese to your language under setting...

btw, any good iphone forums? or sites that i can buy accessories?

Apple store@ Eaton Center have a pretty nice selection, but as far as Iphone cases go, I found a couple pretty nice custom ones @Pmall

you should also jailbreak your iphone, its almost a completely different phone (in a good way) compared to stock, you can do so much more with your iphone like customized menus, ringtones, wallpapers, etc...
