Switching LSPs after full detail
Hey guys,
I performed my first detailed about 2 weeks ago on my e90. I went the whole nine (like you should) with a wash, clay, polish, wax. I only used wax (Natty blue) as my LSP. Ideally I wanted to go with layering a sealent with a nuba wax but time constraints didn't allow me. Either next weekend or the following I planned on reapplying a coat of wax. I bought some CG Jetseal and was wondering if I'd be able to apply this then throw on some Natty. Can this be done or do I need to reprep the paint some how? (Make sure all the wax is removed before applying the sealent). Thanks for the help! |

You'll want to make sure that the coat of Natty's Blue is removed or simply wait until it's protection has worn out before applying Jet Seal. If you don't wait, the layer(s) of Jet Seal will bond to the existing layer of NB which won't last too long (couple weeks tops).
An easy way to remove the wax is to go over the car with some isopropyl alcohol and water (50/50 mix) like you would using a quick detailer. Another option is to use a concentrated mix of Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Clear or Citrus Wash & Gloss shampoo and wash your car with either of those shampoos. If you just performed a large detail on the car, there shouldn't be a need to do anything other than one of those two things to remove the wax. Remember, let Jet Seal cure 24 hours before applying a second coat or topping it with Natty's Blue for maximum results. Keep us posted on how things turn out. Have a great weekend, George |

Thanks George. I'm currently using PB Slick & Suds for washes.
Would you recommend I wash first then spray the car down with alcohol/H2O? I'd like have a piece of mind that my sealent is still present when I don't get to adding another coat of wax every month or so. |
