custom mirrors...
I've looked around but could not come across mirrors that had lights on them. Does anyone know if someone has taken the mirror covers and placed led's in like a line pattern that hooks up with the side blinkers? Just an idea...
They would also blink whenever you locked/unlocked. Shoot me some links if this already a product! thanks! |

I was not thinking some obnoxious display of lights on the mirrors... I knew I was going to be flamed for this
You know the edge that connects the black to the mirror cover, what if a very thin fiber-optic was run in that ridge. You don't think that would look cool yet subtle? |

I'd like to see this mod if you ever make it. I'm interested in having turn signals in my mirrors as well. The Mercedes mirrors are an option of course but I don't know how much adaptation they'll need to fit.

you could... try to invent some kind of celis lamp for the mirrror.
I remeber from loooong ago someone on an E30 forum built there own angeleyes (not CCFL but led) using acrylic bar and a 10w bulb, Sounds ghetto but looked E39 oe, and more importantly , it worked

Not to pick any bones with anyone but its sort of funny that people think this is the WORSTTT idea (running thin fibro-optic type lights in the ridge of the mirror which wouldn't be seen unless they flashed with the blinkers) when they make their own car look like a Riced-out street racer. I understand that there are those that are really into that so to each their own but comeon lets be realistic.
I can not believe running a thin fibro-optic type light in the ridge of the mirror would be 'THAT' bad. Mercedes has huge obnoxious lights and these would not resemble those. These would also go with the car nicely because of the strong lines and lights that show lines (angel eyes and taillights). I mean how can more people say yes to those uglyyyy blue angel eyes which automatically take you back to the under-glow of ghetto trucks and hondas. I just don't understand such a negative response to such a subtle idea... |
