Zaino questions
Today I bought the following from Zaino.ca:
ZPC ZFX Z5 This is the step by step I am going to follow: -Wash with car soap -Clay with clay bar -Polish with ZPC to chemically clean the paint. -Wipe down with 50/50 solution of isopropyl alcohol and water to remove any polish residue. -Seal car by adding ZFX to Z5 (cures in 30 minutes). Questions Do I have to buff the sealant off as the final step? Would you advise using a Porter Cable for polishing, sealing, and/or buffing? Or would that use up too much zaino? How would you improve the detailing process I just mentioned? Should i have gotten the Z2 as well to apply after Z5? Should I have gotten ZAIO instead of ZPC? thanks. |

After the clay bar I usually wash the car again.
I have always applied Zaino (Z5 or Z2 by hand), never used a PC on it.

The answer to your question depends on the color of your car...if dark use Z-5 if light use Z-2...
The process that I would use for a new zaino application is (and i just did with my wife's "new to us" (meaning used) Infiniti QX 56 graphite with 14,000 miles and the usual swirls was... 1. Dawn wash 2. Clay 3. Dawn wash 4. PC with white pad...ZPC 5. Z-AIO (this is a completely optional step, but I have the product) 6. Z-5 followed by Z-6 7. Z-2 followed by Z-6 then Z-8 I used their Blonde boarder free towels... This is a little overkill...you could eliminate the Z-AIO if you don't have....and Z-5 if your car is light colored...just my .02 The only need for PC is for paint correction....and only ZPC does that (maybe a little with Z-AIO)...i do like to use the Z-AIO every third or fourth week to keep things in check....

i just re-read your post and I didn't really answer your questions with my babble...
Do I have to buff the sealant off as the final step? NO...use Z-6/Z-8 Would you advise using a Porter Cable for polishing, sealing, and/or buffing? Or would that use up too much zaino? Use PC only for Z-PC How would you improve the detailing process I just mentioned? Should i have gotten the Z2 as well to apply after Z5? Should I have gotten ZAIO instead of ZPC? Not instead...but in addition...Z-PC is no more than a once a year product....Z-AIO can be used weekly and has very small amount of paint correction...Z-2/5 have NO paint correction... Also understand that I am a zaino fanboy and not very objective... ![]()

I appreciate your help Jason. WIth Zaino it seems like they want you to buy the entire line of products to come out with a showroom car look. I went ahead and ordered 2 bottles of z6. i'm not going to bother with z8.
