What tires for the 260 wheels
I have a e92 coupe and am looking to get a set of 260 wheels. I'd like to get some tires similar to what the M3 looks like with them - a little beefy and certainly more so looking than stretching the OEM runflats on to them. Anyone have any suggestions? BTW, I have a Jeep for the winter so these only need to be summer tires.
Here's the wheels

Right, non-stretched. Thanks. (I also emailed you this question a bit ago if you got it). I'll have to look into finding some tires that size. Any good recommendations of specific tires?

Perhaps the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport. Sounds like a good combo of price, performance and wear.

For summer tires there are a couple of major categories primarily based on dry vs. wet traction: Extreme Performance Summer, Max Performance Summer, Ultra High Performance Summer, High Performance Summer, etc. With Extreme Performance Summer having the highest dry traction and lowest wet traction. Many tires in Max Performance and Ultra High Performance offer a good blend of dry and wet traction. Price/value is also something to consider. This decision obviously varies from individual to individual. At one end of the spectrum you have Sumitomo HTR Z III and General Exclaim UHP that are good value. At the other end you have Pirelli PZero and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 etc. If you don't want to spend too much on tires, General Exclaim UHP is a pretty solid choice. Of course, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 is a better tire (some people may disagree) but it costs much more. It really depends on what you feel comfortable with. I hope this helps. |

Thanks for the helpful explanation. I'm slowly becoming more tire smart. I was thinking the Potenzas as they are about $100 cheaper/tire and have some longevity. I just went and looked and realized that the OEM RFT are the Pilot Sports. So I guess I'd hate to get cool new wheels and go down in tire quality...
