High Pitched Sound

I have a 335i with Logic 7 and during many songs, I'm hearing a high pitched ringing sound, sort of like an echo with a high frequency. At first it happened every time the bass hit, especially if the bass was high. But now it's there 75% of the time faintly ringing in the background sort of like a weird static. Anybody else have this problem and do you know what it is? I'm going to take it to the dealer soon but they're either going to blame it on me (which I swear I've never turned it up that loud to blow a speaker) or say it's normal.

What source are you using when you hear the sound? cd/sat/radio/ipod? All?

I would go straight to the dealer myself.

yeah, it's like a whining sound but it pulses and gets louder/quieter with the music.

Your biggest argument will be to get them to believe it's not the turbos whining.

With the MOST fiber-optic connection, you can't get a ground loop on the signal path.

You could have a bad amp or a bad harness ground... theoretically, you could have a bad battery, but I kinda doubt it.

Make sure when you make your appointment with the SA that you have a loaner with Logic 7 for comparison. Since 335 do not all have Logic 7 it is hard to find a loaner WITH Logic 7 at my dealership. You may have to force him to go with you over to a new 335 on the Sales side of the lot.

That's a good idea. I could play the same songs from my ipod to show them the difference.
