Anyone in the West LA area who can help with JB+ installation?
I am a noob as far as it goes with opening up the hood and messing around with things in the engine, I would be willing to pay if someone could help me install... also, if someone had a Bavarian Tech Scanner that I might be able to utilize in the area from time to time as needed - that would also be amazingly helpful. Thanks! |

JB+ you said? It's the same install as Turbo Tuner. Very easy. I can help if you still haven't done it.

Oh sorry dude, JB+. Yeah thats a sinch 5 minute job. You can do it, I suggest instead of using a flathead screwdriver to take out the existing wire, use a penny instead cos it will allow you put the penny in between the clips and pull out the wire, without dropping the penny. I just found it easier cos I couldn't do it with a small flathead.

I wanted to do the install without removing the air-filter, but I guess this will just be harder in the end? |

In e90/92 you don't have to remove the filter. There is enough space to get in from the side.

If you come to OC, I'll do it for you for free! It only takes 1 minute for me. PM me if you're down here.

This would be amazing, if anyone could do this it would be greatly appreciated! I am sure many people would benefit from this, not to mention the huge number of sales Burger Motorsports will make if they just make their installation instructions more accessible in video form to their less mechanically inclined power hungry 335i drivers...

I used to be able to do one minute installs.. But that was after I broke the clip off my TMAP sensor.. I was able to do this with my bare hands.. No usb cable or guitar pick, just a little lifting pressure with the fingertip and a pull from the other arm and boom..

It's kind of hard to make a video as you can't really get a camera in there. The space is very small and you're doing it blind. When I do it I just make sure that the chip or slot from the end of the usb cable if facing up so that the opening is the part that catches the clip. Once the usb cord gets onto the clip just slide it up until it doesn't move anymore and you should be able to pull out the cable.

It seems that the average individual not only couldn't do it in under 5 minutes and might even break the TMAP sensor if one happens to lack knowledge of the intricacies of the engine bay ... thus -- in order to maximize sales and appeal to a greater amount of customers, create a video that explains how to do this fabled 1 minute installation... there must be some way to get that area illuminated and a way to have an instruction video done, as it is now it is just plain confusing to novice individual interested in a simple tune for moderate HP gains.
