questions: oil change for 335i
okay, right now i have about 1200 miles on my car and is it time to have my oil changed? i called the dealer and they said 'they will only do it once a year, for me is october of 07 or unless the indicator of oil change lights up' any advice would be appreciated

Most reccommend usually once a year or 5,000-7,500 miles.
If you want the dealer to do it for free then you have to wait until the car says you need it changed, and that it is 2 years or between 15,000-20,000 miles.

Identical situation to the e90. Search the forums, I think there are roughly 1000 threads on this topic..
I could start typing about it, but really, it's been beaten so damn far into the ground it'd be dumb to start talking about it... Quickly, there are a few things you can do - Wait. Bring it to the dealer and pay for it. Do it on your own. If you choose 3 and need some help/tools, I'm in the Boston area as well and can help you out. PS. I haven't seen the coupe yet and would love to see it.. How do you like it so far?

Crap just realized you said 1200 (just after break-in) and not 12,000. I would wait until what Nikki said, maybe 7500 to make it even, if you're going to change it more than their interval. All depends on how hard you're pushing it really. No need to change oil just after break-in in these cars..

I intend to get the oil changed after breaking-in 1200 miles. I have about 350 mi on it since I got it last week
Local BMW Service consultant asked for ~$90 just for oil change. I just don't want to screw anything up by making my friend change it for me or go to non-BMW oil change shop who 'may' mess it up -- not sure - can anyone help?

i just reached 1,000 miles and i also want to change it after break-in. i dont want to go to the dealer... but i will be going to a shop. but i want to use the best oil i can get(any suggestions?). I will also buy a OEM oil filter. Going to another shop wont void my warranty or anything like that right? thank you much for all the info |
