IPod (MOST, no iDrive) Doesn't display Playlists anymore
Ok,
I did a search and haven't come accross anyone with THIS specific issue yet. I have a MOST adapter in my '09 E90, without iDrive. I purchased a latest Gen 120gb iPod so I could take my collection with me. (sounds great in theory I know...) I was using the playlist method happily for a while to get at albums and Genius lists (and very happy BTW with this) Then one day, after syncing, it stopped displaying ANY playlist other than the Main one for the whole ipod. There was no firmware update either. BUT it works fine with other ipods. Any suggestions? This really bugs me that this is so difficult and the interface is rubbish, considering how long this has all been around.

Have you tried restoring your iPod?

I am in the process of reinstalling Windows7 as we speak, where itunes lives, so I have not yet.
at 120GB it will take a while, But I do hope that cures it...

I am having the same issue with my very old ipod (Gen4 Photo 30GB - dedicated to the car - it's too fat & ugly for any other purpose). Sounds like I am having the same issue...
2009 335i IDrive (CIC) w/ Dealer installed MOST Ipod Adapter Recently, I lost the ability to play songs from the ipod with the random setting or play any specific playlist via IDrive... When I select a playlist it ignores it & plays the entire library. This all seemed to start when I was trying to find an artist one day, the list took too long to populate on the screen, so I went back to the genre selection to find the artist that way, that listing took too long as well (over a 2-3 minutes I would guess)... I finally gave up, went to the iDrive Hard Drive (My Collection) & found the artist that way (put most of my music on the CIC hard drive when I was testing which method I liked better ipod or built-in CIC HD)... The ipod has never given me any issue & has been in the past 3 cars I have owned. This seems to be a MOST Ipod adapter issue or a comm issue between it & the ipod (no matter what version or generation). Tried the iphone as well & it works normally, but I bet if I left it in the car (which I can't) & had a few days to search & play with it, it would do the same as the rest of our ipods. Feels like a comm issue I tell ya. Anyway, I think this might be the last dance for the ipod in this car. The built in CIC Hard drive works great & is faster for searching for songs & artists (but it is still lacking the ability to do playlists). Anyway, I don't I helped much, but I will update here if I figure anything else out. |
