I actually think it is stupid to go on a highway and try to see how friggin fast one can go. Now if it on the Bonneville Salt Flats..I am ok with that....nothing to hit..no one to get in your way..wearing a helmet... But just to go fast without a helmet on some freeway is just plain stupid. Especially if it is at night.

My 328 station wagon does about 150. Can't say I was staring at the speedometer at the time though. And no, I was not doing anything illegal.

FYI, I believe it is a felony if you get caught going more than double the speed limit

I attended a charity event called "Vettes for Vets" at Talladega Super Speedway on July 4th - my 335 with sport package topped out at 150 indicated - in typical BMW speedo error fashion, the GPS was indicating 145 when the limiter kicked in.

The two C5 vettes in front of me were still pulling away.

Now that was a good place to see where the limiter was.

Hit an indicated 162mph while on the autobahn (zero traffic) in a 535i. The limiter cut it at that point.

eh i mean its ok to go fast like once in a blue moon (literally) and when you know its safe and no other cars are around you. I drive pretty conservatively usually just thought i would put my .02 in. I have had quite a few friends have terrible wrecks in their supras/350zs and such with blowouts or other factors that one usually doesnt think about when he is going fast. Sorry i am so off topic ha but no i havent topped out my car. 325i with sport pkg 6spd. if anyone can tell me what my car does top out at i would love to know. i am sure i will find out sooner or later i am a member of SCCA haha
