I got my AW 335i couple months ago and encountered the same situation. The sale rep was able to locate a car in Ontario with the configurations that I would pay for. However, the other dealership did not want to release as it was the only AW 335i available in Canada at that time.

Dinomite, you have to keep calling your sale rep and make him to jump through hoops to have your car release. At the end, my sale rep has to contact the GM at the other dealership. It took more than 2 weeks (the car was sitting in the lot for 12 days) to have the car delivered.

Got a call 2 days later saying when they finally contacted that dealer he had already sold it to a customer.

In the end they found another one and I pretty much got a nav system free out of it, but on the whole I wished I had just walked when they told me they didn't have the car. My lesson from this is if signing for a car from another dealer, wait till they have confirmation that they can get the car and only sign for it with the VIN number on the contract.

The car I ended up getting was also from Montreal and only took about 1 week from when they found it.

I just replaced my bmw with a mini and I bought it from Downtown Mini and they located the mini I wanted in Oakville. I made sure everything was confirmed before signing this time and I picked up the car 2 weeks later. If I had really wanted I could have had the car in 2 or 3 days, but I wanted some time to sort out summer rims, insurance etc.
Shit, i didn't think about the VIN number, before signing the contract. damn. I will call the dealer up today and inquire about the status, and where about of the car lol

I wanted to order and they wanted to give me what they had. They found me allot of cars but with extra options so I told them unless the options are free im not taking it. Thats why i got heated steering and ipod for free. They couldt find the car without.
You on another hand want to get the car and taking even with extra pack. I dont see why is it so hard for them to find you one.
Call them up. See what are the news on your car. Found it? Where? How will the transport the car? Whats the km on it? which packs/color(to make sure)?
On the contract it said the car will have up to 50KM on it... i wonder how they got all those KM on it. But i should have asked for VIN number before singing i think, this way they would hurry the hell up

Wow, i'd be pissed waiting more than 2 weeks for a car that is supposedly in Ontario. I will call the guy today, and i guess i will call him every day.

Yeah, i'm not too thrilled about the 16 speakers, that was the least favorite option that i'd ever want. I'd rather have the Nav even than those stupid 16 speakers lol

Drives: 2009 335i sedan?

Same situation here. Purchased a 335i sedan with M Sport on Friday. Sales rep was able to find a suitable vehicle somewhere in Canada. Got a call on Monday informing me that the car I bought was already sold!
The sales rep informed me of the other vehicles located in Canada that fit (kind of) my requirements and asked me for 1st choice, 2nd choice, etc. I inquired today, but haven't heard back.

Advice?

they are prolly transporting your car by "driving". not much of a way of transporting and they'll charge you PDI too...2 weeks aint that bad. figure a couple days for paper work on this end and that, a day for transportation, a couple of days to do the detail, clearn interior and all that other dealer stuff they like to do before...makes you wonder if they're unionized
