Suck for consumer but good for business. I don't like paying more tax but understand the rationale behind it.

Can anyone breakdown the pros and cons of the HST and which party benefits most for this thing? I think my knowledge of the HST is very minimal...

Good for businesses as it reduces their paperwork in collecting GST and PST separately.

Bad for consumers as taxes will go up for items that are currently only charged GST such as restaurants and new homes.

It is such a load of bullshit. It's a cost of doing business. My father had a business for over 20 years, and had to deal with it.

For everyday expenses, this means that we're going to be paying 12% on food at a restaurant, compared to the 5% we pay now. So, think about average in tips being 10-15%. That's 25% to fucken go out to eat? WTF!?!?!?

Pay under the table and cash every chance you get. The gov't is lousy at spending your tax dollars. Try to limit the amount they pillage and waste.

For you folks in Richmond...ie. No. 3 Road.
