I like my fake stuff. No one can tell from look. The only thing is that it doesn't smell like leather...

I have two buddies with leather sport seats. Their side bolsters are slowly showing wear.

Mine are still perfect...

I've sat in both leather/leatherette sport seats. The grain is slightly different, but hardly noticeable unless you're specifically looking for it. I'd go leatherette and save a few bucks.

My car has leather in it. When it was in the shop I had a 328i and something didn't feel right about the steering wheel. Sure enough, leatherette. I say go with the leather it is far more comfortable. Granted it must be maintained, but what is an hour every month or so to treat it?

Leatherette tends to be far more bumpy...

I had a 335i loaner with leatherette and ZSP and it felt very stretchy and rubbery. It was somewhat softer than the leather but that's the only advantage. It smelled bad and it made my back sweat.

I absolutely hate it.
All 3 of my E90's have had leather.
My girlfriends E90 has the leatherette.
Feels like rubber.
Get's soo hot.
It's trash.
