Sad. You needed more Asian friends in your life.

I have lots of them. They just couldn't travel out of state for it. They all have young kids.

Close friends or family member = $100+ depends on the relationship.
Less close friends = Just buy around $50 stuff off their registry.

Chinatown wedding - usually $75 per person
Otherwise - minimum $150 per person

This is based on the cost of a reception in the NY metro area. Weddings are not cheap! If you're going to give $50 or less, you might as well not go to the wedding at all since you probably don't really know the couple anyway.

I give a stack of 100 $1 bills with a Single $100 bill on top so it looks like I gave them 10 grand but if they found out it was all $1 bills its still $200, not bad for a wedding present.

Should slip the $100 bill in the middle for a surprise. Or, go to the bank and ask for a stack of $2 bills (yes, they're legal tender). Or make the U.S Mint happy and get a bag of $1 coins (yes, they're legal tender, too).

Why not just give the couple 10,000 pennies?

Candlesticks always seem to make a nice gift.

Name the movie.
