How do you do this?

ok look at this pic closely...
a lot of ppl have subs in their trunks, but not a custom box like this
but its the setup thats interesting
its a known fact that bmw's infrastructure is so that there is i think a 3 inch metal slate? if u wanna call it that, that sits in between the trunk and the rear seats.
and bmw also makes theirs trunkes really closed, so sometimes referedd to as "closed trunks", because its hard for sound to pass thru
WELL, i have 2 12 inch Audiobahn subs, and im pumping quite a bit of watts thru them, but i dont get all the bass i deserve
this is because of that damn metal peice and the closed trunk
in this PIC of this e90's trunk, this guy has managed to fit the subs in the back of the trunk, which appears to be a space not even part of the trunk according to my eyes. so im assuming he made a hole in the trunk to do this, and the SUBS are facing towards the car, so u get the most out of the bass they produce,
now my question is... the box he created for the subs seems pretty large, so i dont think he would allow the box to come into the back area of the rear of his ar, so im assuming that the subs are placed in the area in between the trunk and rear seats, meaning that he HAD to make a hole/ or cut thru the metal peiece that is there so his subs can sit there
if he did, and he has his subs pointing that way (seem powerful as well) and he has that box of his Dynomatted, he must be getting amazing bass in his car. i think he also has neon tubes in the box area, so its looks cool 2.... i want my setup to be like his, but i dont have enuff info about it. i know a member earlier had his subs in his trunk and ported the box into the car, so u could see the trunk from the back seats from that hole (ugly) plus he sold his car i heard , so i think this setup is more badass
plus u save trunk space
i paid a shit load of money for a badass sound system, and i want themost out of, liek this guy did, so can u guys plz help me out on how he mighta done this, and mayb some info? thanks, cuz i know a lot of u have subs and also wondered, mayb solved the problem, but i cudnt find it in a search, so sorry if its already out there.

heres a pic of the guys trunk setup, i want mines like his basically:

but his setup gets the most out of his subs in an e90
so he gets nice bass, which i dont cuz of bmw's "closed" trunk, which he solvd that prob

so ur saying i make my own hole in my trunk about the same size the guy in the pic has, and then "open my pass through", or as u said put my "ski" thing down, and thatll make room for my subs, then i can place my subs in that area, and so theyll basiaclly be right behind my rear seats, which will give me the best bass for my subs
thanks a lot abc9475, but does anyone know wat that thing in the middle of the rear seat is called, the "ski something"? and mayb some more info about how to do this, thanks a lot

If you look real closely at the picture, the trunk is actually deeper than shown. It looks like the subs are put in a custom box that extents forward into the truck and then carpeted to match the rest of the interior. So it looks like the subs are actually fully in the trunk and the picture just gives the ellusion that they are through the back seat of the car. Take a look at your truck and note how little of the rear tire wells are shown in the picture above as compare to your car.

BTW, did you get the fold down rear seat option on the car? If so there is no metal peice between the truck and the car, just the backs of the rear seats.

hey thanks alot
i see wat u mean, good explanation
but i was never told of an option of having fold down rear seats, and im 99% sure i dont have that option, so im pretty sure i have taht metal piece
does that metal peiece like cover my entire rear seat area (like it spans from the left side of the rear to the right side, and is pretty big, cuz if so i wanted to know if i can get it removed, cuz some guy told me its killing my bass. does anyone know if u can remove it,and if like the dealership can do it for u? thanks
