330i Touring SE 57 reg
Hi
I've just bought a new bmw 330i Touring, beautiful car. Its very low mileage (14'000 miles) and I got it a full aa vehicle inspection done before I bought it. I bought it from a reputable trader (not main dealer however) and they gave me a very good deal on the trade in with my car (ie a couple of grand below the trade price for the new car and a £800 above the trade in price for my old car) When I went in to close the deal, I had originally thought it was a 272 Efficiency dynamics, but on inspection of the tax disc it was 214 g/km not 175g/km. I told the trader it did not have the engine specification I wanted. But he pointed out that he was selling this car to me for about 2 or 3 thousand less than other 272 spec 57 reg cars. On thinking about this I decided he had a good point, I only do less than 12000 miles per year and tend to trade in my cars quite frequently so it was probably not worth me paying the extra money to get lower fuel consumption. From a performance point of view it already feels frighteningly fast once you extend it past 5000rpm (and sounds amazing). So I decided it was fast enough and since it is a beautiful car I decided to buy it. I've been driving it back and to to work now for a couple of days now and it is definitely the nicest, and fastest car I have ever owned. I would describe the colour as metallic graphite and it has 18 inch m alloys. The run flats have been replaced with non run flats and it has a spray can of that foam stuff in the boot. I would attach some photos but I don't seem to have the option to attach images (perhaps because I am a new member) I'm averaging about 27mpg at the moment, but my drive to work is a lot of stop start traffic and only 4 miles away anyway. I cant help thinking I wish it was a 272bhp ED, although I always have the option of trading it in next year. What do you guys think, did I make a mistake? Should I have paid the extra for a 272 ED car? Is it worth trading it in for it next year? And how much more is a 57reg 272 ED worth over a 57 reg non ED car? |

As you say, for the use the car is getting I wouldn't worry about it - life is too short to worry about things like that!
Just enjoy the car (When we get some nice weather, that is!)

wise choice i reckon, i have a 55plate e90 and its plenty enuff performance and have no trouble getting 40mpg on a motorway run. 330i is a saucy motor. Gets way better when you have the chance to really push it on the twistys (if you havent already). How much did you pay for it btw?
