Please tell me whether this is a good deal (335 Coupe)

Hi all,

I have been a long time lurker in this forum, and I am in need of a second opinion on my situation.

i found a used 08 335i coupe locally with 15K miles. It has the following options

-Premium
-Logic 7
-Sport pkg w/ 19" tires
-Navigation
-Paddle shifters

When I went to the dealership to check out the car, I noticed that there is a gash (~2") in the bottom of the bumper area (Driver side, below the fog light). It looked like the bumper had been scraped off during parking. Carfax is OK, BMW service records are all clean.

List price was 38,000, and dealer is asking 36900 with a new bumper replaced in the dealership. Is this a good deal?? If dealership replaces the bumper, will it show up on carfax as damaged vehicle and lower the resale value?

So if ur car is clean title and CPOed then its a good deal. You'll love the car, get it

No It's not CPO...so this is not a good deal then?

probably not a CPO because thats a lot of miles for 1 year, if i recall CPOs have to have fairly "low" mileage. regardless, it sounds like an awesome deal, do it!!

I don't believe it will show up on carfax if the dealer replaces it, because it has to be reported to the DMV I believe? someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I paid 36,500 for a CPO 335i coupe last week, 15k miles as well, though mine did not have nav or 19", I can give more details, but I believe you can talk them down a bit further, what is edmunds/kbb value?

$32k seems like a reasonable offer, given the bumper and nonCPO status.

I was told by a car broker, who happens to be my father in law, that it only gets reported on carfax if insurance is involved in the accident/dispute. Since the dealer is replacing this as a show of good faith, it probably won't show up on carfax.
