Picking up my 335i E90!... Oregon Delivery :)
Hello Bemmer fans… here my first post in the forum!
I’m days away from my “Oregon Delivery”… You see, I had enough of waiting for the economy to recover and decided that rather than keep dreaming and postponing my European delivery I would buy Certified Pre-Owned E90 335i. I found the car I was looking for in Portland and I’m going to pick it up this weekend. I’ll be driving down the Oregon and California coast to San Francisco Bay Area, passing through the Redwoods Ntl Park and other cool sites and wonderful roads… I’m really looking forward to this! The car is a 2007 E90 335i Jet Black, Black interior in aluminum trim, 6 speed MT, Navigation, sport and premium package!... just as I wanted it!... it has just 30K miles and cover by BMW extended warrant for 5 more years! The Carfax is clean and all seem to be good, but what else should I look for when picking up the car? What documentation should I make sure they give me? I mean other than title, registration and the CPO stuff. What do I need the Dealer to do prior of picking it up? Too late to not have the front plate vessel drilled in the bumper. It is there already . BTW, does anybody have a solution to fill the ugly holes? Any advice on my “Oregon Delivery” will be greatly appreciated. Next postings will be with pictures of the car with redwoods and the Pacific coast as background, followed by question about mods. Thanks! |

CPO car should be covered for 2 additional years after the original warranty expires, or 100K miles, whichever comes first. Find out when the car was originally purchased. Worse case scenario, if the 2007 car was purchased in late 2006, you only have 3-3.5 years left on the warranty, NOT 5 years. |

Now *this* is a funny coincidence! I have been thinking of getting an E90 so have been lurking here for quite some time now. I've never bought a used/CPO car before for not wanting to deal with the unknowns of how the car was treated previously, but when I saw this car on Rasmussen's site, I was basically ready to go down that night (July 31st!!) and drive/buy it. We ended up himmin' and hawin' about the 30k mileage and by Monday... the rest is history.
Congrats on the car, e-fer! I am glad you liked Portland and had a scenic ride back to SF. ps still not in an e90 yet; keeping my eye on a couple new M-sport 328's |

I made a search on BMW site and the only two 335i CPO's Sport+MT+Nav available on a 1500 miles radius from the Bay Area were concidentally at Rasmussen.
They had a 335i with only 16000 on it!!!... I called for that one and they said it was just sold to someone in San Francisco!... so I went for the 30000 one, and I’m glad I did. I saved about $3,000 and basically have the same car. 30000 miles in these cars is nothing!... go for the CPO 335i!... just make sure they tell you where the car lived before. They seem to move cars around the country (through BMW auctions), you don’t want a car from a snowy or salty place. Good luck on your search. |
