Waxing or Sealing rims?

Anyone have an opinion on waxing (or Klasse SG-ing) rims to help protect them from dirt and the elements? I'm running 17" ASA JH3 rims for my winter set-up and I want to try and protect them from the road salt and snow as much as possible.

Thoughts?

They do look pretty good...especially for being so damn cheap. The only problem is they are HEAVY! I was suprised when I got mine with the snows mounted from Tire Rack as to how heavy they are.

A little extra weight for the winter doesn't bother me that much, every little bit helps with traction!

Ask DavidN or Picus--heard of waxing the rims, but not using sealant on them.

I use klasse on my wheels. They still get covered with brake dust, but it seems to release easily with just soap and water.

Actually most wheel "waxes" are not really wax, they are actually sealants because of the possible temperatures the wheels can see from the brakes heating up.

This will probally be moved over to where it belongs...
