Q & A with the Vishnu Team - XEDE
Looks like I'll be ordering the Stage Subzero (v360) in the near future. I had some questions with the Technical Dept. via e-mail, and here are the responses. Hopefully this will answer some questions for anybody out there interested in the Xede:
I am currently awaiting for my BMW 335i coupe to arrive sometime before year end (Most likely in the first week of 2007). I ordered the sport package along with the auto transmission (paddle shifters). I am interested in ordering the Stage Subzero (v360). I do, however, have a few questions: The car is leased, and I am going to treat it as an everyday driver. I have NO interest in racing it at the track, but I will have my moments on the public roads. I have read from forums that many people come to you to have it installed for their specific needs. Will I need to go that far, or can I just plug and play? You will be able to just plug in play. We have been doing installs for the first couple of people to make sure that every kit is working properly, before we send them out to the masses. And thankfully, we have confirmed that everything is going great. Is the stock air filter OK? I am interested in ordering an aftermarket air filter (K & N). Do you think this is a good idea? If so, should I disclose this to you in the comments box when making my order? The stock filter is great. Currently, there isn't going to be anything better than the factory filter. How many miles do you recommend for the break in? I read in a post that Shiv drove 200 miles, changed the oil, then drove it like he stole it. Is it safe to assume I should wait for the break in period to elapse before I install the Xede? Break in is a very black and white topic. There are those that believe it should be done easy, and those that believe that it should be done hard. We have always broken in our cars fairly hard, and they always seem to make better power. A good break in could go something as follows: 200 miles on original oil. Change to normal non-synthetic oil, and drive hard. Change back to synthetic at 1k miles, and you are ready to go. Again, this is very subjective, and some may not agree with this method. I will most likely use 94 Sunoco Ultra. Does this 1 octane increase make a difference, or should I stick with 93? I hear conflicting reports. Some people rave about the difference while others can't notice anything. 93 or 94 will work almost exactly the same. The fudge factor between the two fuels is enough that it translates to almost no difference. I am aware that the price is $1300. Will this price remain before the year end? Yes. Thank you for your assistance. |

Yeah, what email did you send it to? and How long ago did you send it.
I answer 100% of my emails. It may take me a day or two to get caught up at certain points, but as of today, I am all caught up. Have you called, or PMed or posted these questions? Quote:
