Shiv is willing to come to Dallas, TX the first or second week in January for a tuning weekend. I just spoke with Calvin and got a few details.

1. We need at least 5, preferably 6 people who are willing to sign up for the weekend.

2. Tuning results have shown that Shiv is able to get 10 to 15 whp more from the cars that he has personally teaked compared to the standard octane map that will be delivered. He is also tweaking for improved drivability.

3. I will be looking for dyno facilities in Dallas that can support the effort. We are understandably expected top cover the costs of the dyno facility. Calvin estimated the cost at $100 per hour - 8 hours total would cover 6 people.

4. It does not matter if you already ordered a Xede and have it installed before he arrives.

5. We will have to pay for the following costs assuming 5 people, 6 people would be less.

* Dyno facility estimate - $800 / 5 = $160
* Shiv Non-stop Airfare to Dallas Round Trip - $400 / 5 = $80
* Shiv Hotel (Fri, Sat) @ Motel 6 (ha ha) - $250 / 5 = $50


Total cost for 5 people would be $290 per person. 6 people would be $242

Treat Shiv to a nice Steak Dinner Texas Style (optional) - $100 / 5 = $20

Based on the experiences from our friends in Houston, this seems like an experience that is well worth it. Please respond with a confirmation or questions. Calvin will be reviewing this thread to answer questions.

More info .. I called Redline Performance in Arlington. They want only $300 for the who day of dyno testing. The total would then be only $190 each for the tuning and dyno. Calvin wrote and said that the free tuning special would only be good for Xede's purchased by the end of December. This way we also confirm who is really in based on placing an order before the end of the month even though the dyno weekend won't be until Jan 6 or 13. Shivs time is worth $250 per hour if folks want his services for orders or tuning after Jan 1.

Great attitude! Come to Houston and we can trade for a week... or maybe a day.....or maybe just a few minutes. I hope I have such a great attitude in a year or two when BMW or Shiv comes out with something better.

Looks like we have 3 people so far. Please purchase the Xede soon so we can lock in Shiv. Several guys who have already had Shiv install their Xede's want to come as well. The more the merrier. It's gonna be oe grad Steak Dinner. Price down to 190 sice dyo facility is less tha expected.
