Yes, drivers here are annoying and drive me crazy to no end. However, it doesn't help if people drive like douches to compete with the idiots.
There's nothing rude, obnoxious, or dangerous about using a wide open lane to go around a driver who is oblivious to the rules of the road. I suppose you never speed and obey all the traffic laws without exception. Since you obviously obey all the traffic laws, why are you annoyed by someone going the speed limit. You're such a hypocrite.

It's jungle out there. My car is a crazy driver magnet, and I am always thankful that I make it to my destination without any incidents. Every commute is like I am going to war. This morning, an idiot on a Toyota Tacoma pickup tried to force me out of the road by not letting me merging to I-90. I was accelerating to merge, then this idiot saw me coming in, and he also accelerate so I won't go in front of him....

My sentiments exactly! I try to go through a whole day without incidents but it's difficult.
So many assholes like that Toyota drivers around the Puget Sound area.

I've been a BMW owner for about three weeks now. It's a lowly 3 Series so it's not exactly an expensive car but I think people are more likely to single out a BMW as a target. By target, I mean they assume you'll back off if they cut in or if they deny you a position. Also, much more likely to try and get you to race. I was driving a 2005 TL before this car. Black, tinted windows, and larger A-Spec wheels, so it looked good, but I never got the crap I get in the BMW.

BMW is not something we rarely see in this area. I can spot bimmer as much as I can spot Camry in every day driving.
Anyway, these idiots are annoying as much as those slow goers in the left lane for sure.
I just hope eveyone here drives like German does on Autobahn. From my past experience in driving eastern Canada, I also give credit to eastern Canadian drivers for not blocking passing lane.

How do you make slow drivers blocking the left lane to move to right? Do you guys honk or high beam at them? I've been in here for 11 years and never done that but used to do that in Salt Lake City.

can you elaborate how a 3 series 335i is a "lowly" car relative to say an acura TL or toyota?

First, I have a 328i Coupe so in the BMW product line that's about as low as you can go. It's not that expensive and as pointed out, it's very common, especially on the Eastside (Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah, etc). I didn't say that a TL is a better car, I was just pointing out that I previously drove a car that many people might think was nice or racy looking and I didn't get as much crap as I've gotten in my BMW these first few weeks. Just to clarify further, I'm in the break in period so I've been driving very cautiously and certainly not trying to draw attention.

I just wonder if BMW owners in general encounter more jerks because they are driving BMWs.

I flash the highs if it's someone who is obviously not paying attention, just cruising in the left lane without reason, with no left-sided exits around and light traffic. I'd say about half will move over. If traffic is heavier I just deal with it or work my way around in the other lanes.

Totally, I wish slow drivers would stay out of the left lane especially when there isn't much traffic.
