Which is why I said try out a similar car first. Do a test drive at a local dealer or something.
You have to take the big things out the equation first, like if it's you thats finding it strange, a suspension problem or the wheels. |

22 years in the Motor Trade-my guess would be tyre quality. Sounds like you got TDF tyres (known in the trade as taiwanese ditch finders) dxb335d is right.
You can get away with them on low powered FWD cars but not our great BMW's Slidey Slider! |

No difference what so ever , sliding about like the dukes of hazzard . Thats it im going to take a punt that the wheels are ok and order some http://www.falkentyres.co.uk/product...hFor=&PT_ID=52 Heres hoping they do the job , shall hold off till tomorrow just to see if anyone has any other suggestions with tyre prices . The falken are working out at £282 ( not sure bout delivery though for NI ) . Cheers fellas much appreciated the feedback edit - feck me its doesnt rain but it pours . Just noticed on their website that they dont deliver to Northern Ireland . Back to the drawing board . Last edited by williams11; 08-19-2009 at 05:35 PM.. |

Ok guys some feedback .
Got the tyres fitted yesterday , done well a local tyre depot charged me £25 for all four fitted and balanced . I was quoted £18 for each tyre at a larger tyre fitters . Anyhow firstly the noise that i was getting is completly gone . I havent had much rain here but i can tell right away that its a different car to drive , much better refined drive . Those tyres have made a hugh difference , I can now start to aprreciate the car and look forward to heading of over the bank holiday . Now using 225/40yr18 fk452 falkens - cost for 4 = £303 shipped fitting - £25 . thats me well sorted thanks again folks .............................
