Yes it is, what a deal huh? I paid $185 for it with shipping (nothing wrong with trying to make a little profit here after shipping costs and paypal fees, eh).
Unfortunately, I did not do my homework as I was fooled by the title in the Ebay auction that indicated that the air bag would fit an 09 as well. Well, according to realoem.com the part number for the airbag changed in 09/2008 and my production date is 05/2009. Thus, the air bag is for sale now and will fit vehicles prior to 09/2008 production date. Last edited by jimk; 08-27-2009 at 11:23 PM.. Reason: punctuation |

Pretty sure that's what you'll always be looking at if you stick a different airbag in your car.

Guys, you have to consider the price vs. a new one with warranty. This is what I also did and decided to give it a try. I'm not a lawyer to write up warranty contracts, etc. I bought this airbag under the same conditions as you, it won't work for my car and I'm selling it back under the same conditions but with the corrected years it will fit (the price is adjusted to cover my expenses and a make a little profit). However, I was going to have the dealer test it right after I installed it to make sure it is operational and will save my life if in an accident. The bag looks new and I have no reasons to believe that is defective. However, if for some reason the dealer would have told me the bag is not operational, I would have tossed it in the trash can and never sell a diffective product to anyone, even more so if a life depends on it.
If you buy a brand new one, or a used one or whatever condition it is, I would still have a dealer test it if I were you. What good will a warranty do if the bag fails to protect you when needed (knock on wood, to never be in that situation). It is a small price to pay for your life. Does a warranty really guarantee functionality? I don't think so. If the one that cost you $275 vs. the one that costs you $1000 or $500 proves to work just as good then that is a smart buy. If not, then oh well, you've tried to save a buck and you may have learned a lesson. The decision is yours. I typically fall into the smart buy category and have saved a lot but I do know I'm taking a chance and there are no guarantees when I make these decisions. My intentions are not to scam anyone and I have been very truthful in all questions asked and will be for anything I sell. I hope you are too for stuff I will eventually buy from you. jim,
if we do buy the airbag and get it installed, and get it checked by a dealer and then it turns out it doesn't work, then what? Refund? ![]() Seriously though, if so, PM me.
