no getting rid of everything probably freeing up a couple 100 pounds too.....if you look under the car the stock cats are about 3'' or so and we're gonna just modify the new exhaust right into the stock cats, im sure that they are just as good as after market high flow cats

So I'm guessing you'll be using a 3" turbo-back for each turbo (meaning two separate pipes) or are you going to merge them into one 3" pipe? Any specific muffler(s)?

Jgannon,
I'm looking into a custom setup as well. I was going to go with Apexi N1s because they offer an exhaust control valve that can be controlled from the drivers seat. (VA has ridiculous exhaust laws, so I could really use the ability to be stealth or speed with the press of a button). I figure you can help me out on this question. They offer two types. NA with a 2.36inch "inlet" and a a 3.54inch "tip" and a Turbo with a 3inch "inlet" and a 4.53inch "tip" When they use the words "inlet" and "tip", does "inlet" refer to the diameter of the opening, with "tip" referring to the length of the tail of the muffler?

not really sure about that particluar brand, but you can customize any setup just as long as it fits....they way i see it is why not go 3'' if it will fit, faster!!!

Glad to see someone is finally going to test out something bigger then a 2.5" system for this car. I'm curious to see if maybe 3" is going to rob some low end power due to the size of those turbos and the amount of exhaust air traveling through the piping. If it does rob power on stock boost levels then maybe a 70mm system would work best.
Have you thought of maybe also trying going from two 3" systems from the cats then joining then into one 3" pipe till the end? This could posile help better the overall flow pressure and show better results if the other system shows losses. either way top end increase is going to jump very high.

i really don't think that it will loose anything, just my assumption...those S4 guys put 3'' all day long. i thought of doing 2 pipes out of the turbos and joining into one, but i think that 2 separate pipes will flow better. If anyone is interested check out my thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39164 this will be a bad ass system
