Wastegate Rattle after downpipes? Fix?
I have had my aftermarket downpipes on for about a month now. As soon as I installed them and turned on the car, there was a loud metal rattle.
Sounds like the infamous wastegate rattle. The thing is my car never made this sound with the stock downpipes. I can only assume that the stock downpipes do a good job of muffling out the sound somehow. I obviously want it fixed, but I doubt the dealer will perform warranty work on my turbos with aftermarket downpipes. So I guess I will need to put my stock downpipes back on, but I am worried that the wastegate rattle sound will again be muffled and unheard with the stock downpipes Has anyone else been in this situation or have any insight? |

I had somethign like this when I got rid of my secondary cats, but it just turned out to be that the pipes attaching to the headers were loose. I tightened the bolts up and I have not had an issue with it anymore

it's not a wastegate rattle... most likely the Dp's are either...
A- touching each other and need to be adjusted B- bolts on dp's are not tight enough C- DP's are touching heat shield on passenger side (very common) Hope that helps u out |
