Wheel and Tires from Tirerack
Ever get bum tires from tire rack? I ordered a set 2 months back. Winters tires with wheels. I know its early, but wanted to see what they looked like and drove like and was eager to try them out.
Anyway.. I did this on Thursday. Friday morning rolls around, and the car is in the drivway.. all 4 were low as heck. I drove to the gas station, filled them up and took it to a shop later Friday to have them check it out. They checked the pressure and valves and said they seem ok and the warning went off. I drove it home.. and immediately noticed the back left was low and it was warning me. Figured I leave it in the garage and fill that one in the morning. I go and check today and 2 of the 4 are almost flat. I am so peeved right now.. as I don't have the tools to swap out the wheels, tires are flat with no compressor and can't drive on them to the gast station.. anyone expereicne this and know what I should do? I need to get them to the shop so i can put my stocks back and have them check out the new wheels and tires and complain to tire rack! Arghhhhh |

Never heard of something like this happening, but this scares me.
I just picked my father up a set of winter wheels and tires from tirerack. They are in my garage and are still all wrapped up ...

so the latest is that i have two busted stem valves on the tires.. and tire rack is sending me a new kit. This freaks me out and definately makes me think twice about buying tires direct.

Also.. I have been taking the car to Auto Engineering in Lexington. These guys have been nothing but professional. They did not install or service these tires and have gone above and beyond to help me pin point the problem at no charge yet. Once I get the kits, they will obviosuly charge me for the mount and balance.. but nothing but awesome for helping me out. I am surely going to use these guys for off warranty services.

I have nothing but good things to say about tire rack. I have been buying tires from them for over 10 years, never one issue. I'm glad it's just a valve stem issue and they are sending replacements. With the amount of tires and wheels they sell they are bound to get a couple bad stems.

I agree.. its just freaking how this happened and can't wait for this to be done with. My worse feel are tires going while I am travelling on the highway. Just wanted to let the forum know that these things do happen.
