[UPDATE]

I spoke with Paul at Eurasia in Edmonton and here is the deal if we can get at least 5 committed to the GIAC flash:

"If you can rally a minimum of five (5) people for an introductory software purchase, I will provide each purchaser with a $150 written credit toward future services at Eurasia. The retail price of the flash is $895 + GST, so this represents a effective price of $745 + GST. I will make this rate effective for anyone from your group that books an appointment through to the end of September, 2009 which should give you ample time to rally the minimum number of people interested in the software."

I am in for sure so we just need 4 more people. If you are interested in going for it and can do it by the end of September, please add your name to the thread:

OMG,

I was thinking the same thing.

I think Wookey on 780tuners works at Eurasia so he might be someone we need to approach.

Anyways, if the flashing happens in Edmonton I'm in. Looking at getting a BT Tool as well.

Sounds great! I'll PM Wookey on 780tuners to see if he can swing a deal for us and get the numbers based on the number of people who want the tune.

Well, not to sound cheap. But other cities are getting the $749 + GST (no credit). The $150 for future work done at Eurasia sounds nice, but I'm in warranty and have no need for them to touch the car other than to do the flash. Smart on there side though, I wouldn't blame them for putting the discount as a credit. Again, what would I need the $150 for?

Sorry to say I may go another route unless it changes.

Hey Mike will we have to flash back to stock through Eurasia if bringing the car into the dealership, and if so would there be a charge? Also this is for the stage 1 flash, actually I don't think stage 2 is even out yet is it.

I think that depending on the work at the dealer it may be necessary to flash back. Ex. fuel pump failure or wastegates. The charge to flash back is labour only. Once you pay for the GIAC license, it is coupled to your VIN and you essentially own the flash. We are paying Eurasia for the mechanism and process of transferring the map to the ECM.

And yes this is for stage 1 only. Stage 2 should be pretty sweet!

Cheers!
