My 335d doesn't like to rev pass 4,500rpm?
My 335d has just gone past 5,000 kms and I've began to bring the revs higher and drive the car a lot harder. But when I try to bring the engine to its redline of 5,000 rpm's, it seems to automatically shift up at 4,500rpms whether i am in D or M mode on the autobox.
I understand that diesels aren't meant to perform at high rpms and to be rev'd all the way to the red line as the motor pretty much ends it torque band at about 4300rpms, but I was just wondering if this was normal?

Yes it normal on the 335d to shift at around 4500rpm to 4600rpm doesn't matter if you're in D or M mode. Road and track talks about it in their May 09 issue.
