Help! My car seems to have lost a step
My 2007 (Sept 06 build, 31k) 335 just got out of the dealer, it apparently had a bad #6 fuel injector according to the code it threw. The dealer replaced the fuel injector, but now I swear it doesn't feel turbocharged anymore. The torque doesn't seem to be the same and the car seems louder revving through the gears. It actually reminds me more of an E46 M3. Could there be something wrong now with the turbos, wastegates or VANOS?
The work order doesn't indicate any software update. I bought the car as a CPO from another dealer and its history showed one new fuel pump already and had a VANOS replacement, which my SA said was basically a new cylinder head. I appreciate any shared similar situations or ideas? |

maybe this will give you something to go by. Maybe adaptation values were not set correctly
SI B 12 26 08 Engine Electrical Systems October 2008 Technical Service SUBJECT Injector Removal, Installation, and Replacement Procedures MODEL E60, E61, E71, E82, E88, E90, E92, E93 with the N54 and N63 engines INFORMATION During the removal and reinstallation or replacement of a fuel injector, it is very important that all of the recommended repair instruction procedures be followed precisely. For example, the N54 engine TIS Repair Instruction, RA 13 53 310 – Removing and installing or replacing an injector (N54), contains very specific information when performing repairs to the injectors on the N54 high-pressure fuel system. It is very important that the ignition coils be removed prior to opening any high-pressure fuel connection, as described in SI B12 27 08. Each injector is adjusted to the DME, based on its production calibration and cylinder position in the engine. If an injector is replaced, the individual calibration (adjustment value) must be read off of the new injector and entered into the DME. If the DME is replaced, all injector adjustment values must be entered into the replacement part after the programming / coding session. Failure to perform this procedure correctly could result in starting and engine performance problems. This procedure is found in diagnostics using the following path: Service Functions / Engine Electronics / Adjustment programs / Adjust injectors For each injector, the adjustment value is entered according to the installed cylinder position. Note: Due to conversions taking place in the DME control unit, the final digit of the values entered may differ slightly after they have been stored. This does not indicate an input or control unit error.

Thanks, I am going to try to schedule an appointment at my dealer for next week and see if they can find something, it is definitely not the car it was before.
