New BMWCCA Visa CC Offer

OK, so here is the offer I got in my E-Mail today:

Thank you for your interest in BMW Car Club of America Rewards Visa® Credit Card: Automatically build points (1 point for every $1 spent) toward Free annual BMW CCA membership, 1% cash back, No Annual Fee, travel, merchandise and gift cards from name brand retailer and other great rewards. Now thru October 4th, we’ll cover your BMWCCA renewal fee ($40) for free when you are approved and use your new BMW CCA rewards.

Sounds pretty good (ie, 1% cash back, No annual fee, points toward CCA membership, $40 applied to my current CCA membership to extend it). So usually anything that sounds too good to be true, usually isn't really true. Anyone know the negative points with this particular Visa CC promotion?
Note: I pay off my balance each month, so I don't care about their finance rate.

1% cashback and no annual fee is pretty commonplace (Discover, HSBC cash back mastercard, etc), nothing special. The $40 fee for free is nice, but not something I would bother opening a new credit card for.

That card's been available for a few months now. You should have got an E-mail and mailing a few months ago.

Nothing wrong with the card. But you can get more cash back from other cards; some given 5% on gas and 3% on food. I would be cool to have a pic of your car on your card though.

Your can put your car picture on the card.

I use Amex Blue card same way and gives 1.5 on most purchases and 5% on gas and groceries

You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
