Exclamation SES on the way back from upstate

So, I was riding around in my automobile on NYS Thruway when boom the SES popped up. We didnt lose power, but when I got home I gave the car the once over. Theres no availablity until next week at the dealer so I am wondering what would cause this. Checked gas cap, not problem. Also the idle is rough and startup.

P.s. is it normal for smoke to come out of oil fill cap area, I opened this to look in when I got home and was greeted with a small cloud of smoke.

sounds like no big deal to me. The car will probably live for a week untill you take it to the dealer.

Thanks. hope it does, I think it was the vapor that had me feeling like I might spontaneously combust or something.
