it's all speculation until a dyno and buyer feedback.

I've been running on the LET Flash and like it.
The real issue i have with a flash is will it stick or will bmw's
adaptive features wipe it out. With a piggy back you're guaranteed
that ur tune will be there. it's a physical item u add to your ecu.

FYI, my car was in for service last week
and no problems with the dealer. now i'm going re-dyno to
see if the flash stuck.

if anything to compare it's the piggyback versus the software flash.
The gains arn't that tremendous, either tunes, but if u get better throttle response that's a ++, because LSD are $$$.
I'd say more to the n52 market the better.
I had my car in for service about 3 weeks after the LET tune (my clutch felt like it was slipping) and they actually hooked it up to the GT1 computer. Not only did they not see anything altered but it didn't erase it either. I have noticed that since I got the tune, the car feels a little stronger now and when I unplugged my battery last week to work on my DRL harness, I thought "oh shit, is this gonna mess with my tune or the adaptive throttle feature?" but sure enough, started the car and she zoomed like she always does.

Nice to see someone else is working on these cars but don't forget it's the mid range torque curve that you want to be bumped up, not necessarily the HP. Of course added HP is nice but the mid range torque is what makes this car feel a lot faster.

Hate to break it to you but the muffler delete ain't gonna do jack for your numbers on a dyno... you need high flow cats (or no cats) to actually see a difference. It might relieve a touch of back pressure to increase the throttle response just a hair but that mod is basically for sound only.

While you're there and only if possible, could you please ask Terry how many more he needs before he'll expand testing beyond just locals?

the NA tunes arent what im concerned about. being able to crack the ecu means that there may be boost in the future of the N52

I already did...it's 20 and I was #13 last week, and he had an appointment that day for another one! Unfortunately it has to be 20 problem free tuners, and I already have thrown up a check engine light. nothing a quick restart couldn't fix though...from my limited knowledge I'd say it probably has to do with the throttle response rather than the tune, considering it restarted right away w/o any codes....then again let me go home and hook up my scanner for codes, forgot I had one

just like everyone else did. in a few more years theyll get bored and put the N52 back on the research boards. as long as a better fuel pump comes out than the OEM HPFP we should be good

So i got the tuner installed on sunday, and instantly noticed the change in the car. Its a lot more aggressive and has much more pull. Passing people on the freeway is a blast.

No lights or codes yet, and I was throwing it around after I got it to try and set one off.

Terry says it showed 8HP and 8TQ gains on a dynojet, and the throttle remap is great and the whole thing is a very noticeable upgrade.

So far so good, stay tuned for more info
