Setting Gain with a voltmeter

I am setting the gain on my Slash 1000/1 JL. I have followed the steps but i cant seem to get the correct value when i am testing the voltage coming from the speaker output. I am getting a Value of 5.74 instead of 57.4. recommended by JL. I am not sure if the voltmeter is using the correct values or measurments. I have the voltmeter set on auto.
Here is the one i have.

When i test the battery with the voltmeter set to auto it reads 13.8 which is correct.

What value should i be looking for for the amp?

According to this manual http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/uc/rs...0820_PM_EN.pdf there is different range for 20V to 200V than with 2V to 20V (which may lead to the difference on your display)

There's no multiplier. The automatic range adjustment just accounts for more precision at lower voltages (i.e more counts per volt @ a fixed bit resolution).

What I seem to remember is that the voltmeter needs to be able to read "RMS" voltage and be set to "AC", not "DC".
