I am with 330 on this one .Some dealers are a bunch of w------.What could be killing the alarms if they keep replacing the unit ??? what could cause each one to die ,It isnt your problem and is a issue Vines will need to deal with just a similar situation with electrics and cars
A friend had a MB 500SL from new and paid £77500 with some inheritance money on year two it started doing some weird stuff like the dash board lighting up like a christmas tree and the pop up roll bar imobolised ,it went in several times and wasnt fixed ,until she demanded they keep the car and there senior tech took the car home every night etc and sure enough it happened to him,They said we have a trouble shooter from Germany comming to take a look ( i doubt they did) ,several modules replaced and it went on still having problems,As it approched 3 yrs old she was concerned about warrenty etc ,MB gave her a free £1800 extention to cover year 4 still having issues at 37 months old and 11k miles she traded it for a new VW EOS convertible straight swap . She had lost all confidence in the car. The dealer lost a valuble customer as she had already had 2 previous sl and no doubt would have bought more if she was happy .But i think the problem as far as they were concerned was gone some poor bastard had just inherited a bag of trouble . My advice keep sending it back till you are 100% happy ,I know i would and explain how busy you are and will be invoicing them for your wasted time ,It shouldnt get to that but if you have the time keep sticking it to them |

Chris good to hear you got a good result, fingers crossed your problems with the car are over.
To the op...yikes, that much wind isn't acceptable. Hope you have it sorted, either seems like a split seal or misalinged door. Keep persisting for a fix and you might want to call BMW cs if you're worried. What I would say is, that modern BMW's suffer from a lot more road/wind noise then our perception of what it should be like. This is all across the range and more pronouned by rft's. The difference in road/wind noise compared to another german manufacturer, is like the difference between chalk and cheese. |
