I think you are right !

This is the blag IMO.

If you stay with YOUR insurer, they know the score with your non fault claim.

If you change insurers you have to answer 'yes' to 'the have you had an accident question'

Even though you plead inocence, and they can check that no costs were incurred, the computer will load you for it.

Got you either way, same with protected no claims, even if you do claim you won't lose your no claims, but they will load you slightly for having an accident / claim, then reduce the new higher premium by your NCB figure, so you still lose even though you pay for protected NCB.

The police won't come unless someone is hurt or the road is blocked or there's some argy bargy about it.

If you call 999 they'll bollock you and cut you off as its not important.

Spot on mate

I know this for sure as had a second car on another policy and some twat revered into it outside
I claimed off his insurance directly and as soon as i put it on my details with insurance come renewal it went up

if you do some quotes with or without you will see the difference for sure, and not just one year..Oh no this lasts 3-5 years

But if it ends up 50/50 i wont bother having the car repaired through the ins as its not worth it to my premiums. i will have it repaired at my expense and in my own time, this way tesco say my premium stays unaffected
