335xi pre-order?
so a local dealer is taking pre-orders for the 335xi. he says all they need is a $500 deposit
considering there isn't even an msrp for this car, how the hell does that work? you reserve a car with no price? that kind of leaves zero room for negotiating, right? couldn't the dealer simply give the car to someone else who was willing to pay more? |

I ordered my 330xi the same way for ED. I ordered in May05 for a car didn't have an official price until July05.
Just ask your dealer if the deposit is fully refundable. You should get an agreed upon $$$$ over invoice price when you put the deposit down. Get the agreed upon price in writing on the dealership's letterhead. Also put the deposit on a credit in case, the dealer tries to renege on the deal.

It will price out almost the same as the 328 does now, with and without X drive.A few of the packages could change slightly, but the options should be the same. You can write up a buyers order saying XXXX off MSRP or over invoice and any deposit should be fully refundable for any reason. The X Drive cars go into production in March, '07

march production with release after 4/15? does that mean if you wanted to do a ED, you would have to wait until April or could you go to Munich in March and have it re-delivered in April?
