Thinking of cancelling...
It's been two weeks since my order. Still no production # from the CA. I'm starting to think they are backed up until Jan/February production... maybe I'll just wait for the new E92 M3 and place an early order for that.

Well, that depends on how much you really want the 335. Seeing your cars, you already have an m3? So its up to you, I guess the 335 ist that important,

We have been taking orders for M3's for the last 3-4 years when people knew a new model was coming,so the wait could be a year or longer from fall of '07.......as far as ordering goes,we sell cars from our allocation, they already have a production number assigned to them and we just modify the car to the customers needs. We use a DAR ( dealer activity report ) and we print it daily.Ask to see it and where your order is and what your production number is.You can always call me with any questions about the process....happy holidays !

When I placed my order on 10/6, I wouldn't have known enough about the process to know what to do if I didn't have an order #. But I was given one that same day.
Now that I know how it works, if I didn't have an order #, I would shop around to see what dealer could a) give me the correct pricing (the car doesn't even exist yet) and b) show me that the order is in the system. If all dealerships couldn't give me an order # for weeks, then there isn't anything I could do as the buyer. But somehow my gut tells me that's not the case. I did run into a dealer in Oct. who said they could not TAKE my order until the next month. To me, that's more honest than taking a deposit and not being able to put an order in for a month or longer......my .02. I would advise you to keep shopping as you can still cancel as you said, if you find something better. |

If you dont have a production number then you probably arent in the system yet. That means the dealer is waiting for Jan 1 to enter feb production orders. So its likely you will find out you will be a first week in feb production. But you wont know anything unless you call your dealer and ask. Good luck. As for an early M3 order you may want to ask your dealer. The larger dealerships already have a long list of orders for the new M3. I would guess you wont be the first M3 order on the list. As another person posted your wait for an M3 could be a long one (year from now or longer). Ask your dealer while you have him on the phone about your 335 order. |
