Fuel Pump
Just bought my car this past June, it's an April 2009 build.
Long cranks at 4500 miles, failed fuel pump at 4700 miles. Is that a record for quickest to a failed fuel pump? I guess they haven't fixed the problem yet. |

Dropped off my car today at Herb Chambers and they didn't even have a loaner!! Is this typical of dealerships? That you have to schedule a loaner 3 weeks in advance? Next time I'll let them know that my fuel pump is going to fail in about 3-4 weeks, so can I book an appointment and a loaner?!?!

Update: dropped off my car at 7:30am, I understand that it was an unscheduled visit, but no phone call all day!! I finally get off work and drive in around 6:30pm and am ready to chew someone out. I politely yell at two people and they throw out garbage like "I'll personally take care of this tomorrow" We'll see about that.
WTF?! No phone call all day to let me know what is wrong with my car. At this point I'm assuming it's a HPFP issue, but not sure. I should've listened to all of you. Question though... if I bought my car at Herb Chambers, can I still take it to any other dealership and get all my warranty work done? Can I still get a loaner? The guys today told me that I won't be able to get a loaner if I take it to another dealership? This is after I threatened to take the car and go somewhere else. |

If HC doesn't have a loaner for you anyway, I suppose it doesn't matter. At least Peabody doesn't jerk people around.

From my experience, you can only get a loaner from any of the HC dealership you bought the car from. I bought my first MB from HC in Lynnfield and always had it serviced in Somerville with a loaner. Then when i brought it to Wagner MB (Worcester) they didn't give me one cause i didn't buy the car from them but the service done was still under warranty. I'm bringing my car to the new HC BMW in Sudbury this Sat (brake squeaking at 8k miles). Hope it should be better
