e90 Bluetooth not active

All,

Newbie. Bought a used 2006 325i and the phone icon on the steering wheel does nothing. I assume bluetooth was either not installed or the software was never activated. Can someone point me to a FAQ and place to get basic information on activating the bluetooth. My hope is that this does not require the retrofit described in the sticky of this forum.

Pull the trunk carpet out, look for a rectangular module at the right side. If it's there, you have BT.
