Resonator Delete

Quick question. Does removing the resonator on the 2009 335i result in a louder, deeper, and more drone filled growl. Or, is there a very minor difference?

The difference is huge. I had my resonators removed, but I have to say Im still not in love with it. At high RPMs the car sounds like a civic. But it is louder! At low RPMs it sounds great. Another Great thing about removing the resonator is if your driving normaly in the city its not too noticable. Dont regret the resonator delete, but wish it was more V8ish. Lol

oh ok...lol..but what do you mean it sounds like a civic at high speeds? do you mean to say that it looses that exotic pur that makes the 335i, a 335i?!

dont do it.

i sold my bastuck w/2nd cat delete and i gave him my cut up exhaust

i get his old stock exhaust but he did a resonator delete on it.

let me tell you. IT SOUND weird. and i dont like it. i like the sound of stock 335i exhaust better.

just dont do it. its a waste of money. if your going to do it. let me buy the resonator off you and put it on my car. haha

So...the resonator is the large silencer immediately downstream of the downpipes right?

Is the resonator part of section II? If so I have those deleted mated to a Eisenhaus Race exhaust and it sounds orgasmic.

e92 and e90 have different exhaust setups.
e92 has an xpipe but i dont think that can be called a resonator. The e90 has a can/resonator in section 3.

just take the performance exhaust. for the E90 it includes a replacement for the part where the resonator is. (also the reason it is more expensive for the E90 then for the E92)
