Crazy wacky fuel pumps!!
You just never know what they'll do next!!
So for that past 2 months I've had long cranks on EVERY start up, regardless if it's a cold start or not. (oh I've been down this road before). I've just been too lazy to take it to the dealer to get yet ANOTHER pump replaced. So basically I've just been waiting for it to die on me altogether before doing anything about it. Well on Saturday I took my car to the car wash because clearly for me looks are more important than performance. Anyhow, after they washed my car..I started her up and immediately there was a check engine light (engine malfunction reduced power). I drove out of there and there was some serious limp mode action going on. Like worse than any other limp mode I've felt on the car. I could barely get her past 45mph. Also when I would come to a full stop, the car would stall on me and die. I kept turning the car off also to see if I could get out of limp mode but it would keep repeating the same problem instantly upon starting. So I limped home...shut the car off for about 2-3 minutes and decided to start it up. Now here's the crazy thing... the car started up just fine...no limp mode and ran like a raped ape again! Also, it's been 5 days and I haven't had one single long crank! Car just starts up instantly without hesitation. WTF? Been running great now for 5 days but i'm sure this is a temp thing. Haven't read any codes yet so I can't say for sure what's going on. Anyone experience this problem?? Love, Mario |

Sounds like you need to take it in for sure. If you dont have a good dealer in LA area let me know. i can direct you to one with a great tech. he just helped another member on here with a bunch of issues and he had DP's and a tune.

oh....and put a gt35r on that s52, you'll freakin love it. I heart mine Just took my friend out for a ride and did a little low boost (11psi) 3rd and 4th gear pull and he was seriously impressed....as was I. Can't wait to turn it up!

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.
Is it wrong to sit on the problem until it officially dies? I'm just so damn busy lately to take care of this. F**ing procrastination. LOL |

I had my hpfp go bad on me as well. Very similar to the experiences you've had. Of course, I freaked out as it was in rush hour traffic. Literally had to pull over every 5 min to restart because she shook sooooo bad.
If you can get a hold of a BT scanner and scan your car, that would be most informative as the codes tell you what's wrong with the car. Which is what I did, and it gave me the death code (fuel pump code, starts with 29xx something). So that was the tell tale sign that my pump was going out. It shouldn't take the dealership more than a few hours to change the hpfp. I dropped my car off first thing in the morning and picked it up a few hours later. But if you attempt to do this yourself, just get a hold of a Bentley's Manual and it should show you all the necessary steps in changing your hpfp. Sorry to hear that man, but I guess it comes with the territory if you know what I mean.... GL!!

WTF?! you're on your 7th one? I don't think I would last that long with the same car, I think I'm on the 3 strikes you're out sorta deal. Two more strikes then I'm onto a different car, period. LOL
