New member checking in

Hi all,

I just joined up, Melbourne bayside based.

I was a member of e60.net as my previous ride was a 2005 E60 525 MSport. Great informative site although there seems to be a bit more Oz activity on this site.

Anyway we had lid no. 3 in July and my wife upsized into a 7 seater for family work so I downsized to 335 . Found the 5er a bit more refined - but it is probably mainly due to being back to the crap flats which I had ditched on the 5. I would love to get rid of them now but may run them down a bit first. Other than the tyres the car is good but would definately benefit from a LSD - anyone know why BMW do not put them in?

Will do tyres first as that is the major traction issue than evaluate the LSD later.

Cheers

Scott

Here are a couple of (not so good) snaps.

M-Sport sedan in LeMans blue with beige interior. Nothing done to it yet other than tint. Second shot is a different exposure so distorts the colour somewhat.

Wow thats awesome! Hard to beat an M-Sport 335i. The colour is great.

I found the Bridgestone RE050A RFT grip ok on smooth roads. However, poor surfaces seem to be a problem for them, so that is where I think you'll find the biggest improvement.

Congrats on the e90, same colour as mine from the looks of it.

Swapping from run craps to standard tires tends to yield a more comfortable ride with a tad more grip. The LSD with run craps grips pretty well but is a lot more fun with superior bite coming out of corners.

Given you've more than likely an AT then your crown should be bolted, if that's the case a Quaife LSD is pretty inexpensive (about the same $ as a set of 4 good tyres).

IMHO as selling the run craps with even >500km's on them you don't really get much for them so may as well run them down first and spend the inital mod money on an LSD. Also the mrs is most likely not going to notice it either

You should have a chat to Andrew from Southern BM in Morabbin, he is the Aussie Quaife dealer and also has some great tuning options if you looking at getting better than M3 type power from your 335.

Cheers,

S

Hey Scott, nice car & colour, i''m bayside melbourne as well. Southernbm are great, just did the procede tune on my 335, been said before but its absolutely true - it turns the car into the one it should have been when it left the factory! love it!
